What is a Persian Rug?
We’ve all heard of them, but what exactly is a Persian rug? In short, a Persian rug or carpet is a rug that is made in Iran, which is historically known as Persia. Persian rugs originate from the rich history and culture of Persia, where generations have crafted rugs with elaborate intricacy, colors, and exquisite patterns. Persian rugs are quite special due to multiple factors including a high knot concentration per square inch, rug uniqueness from different geographical regions, fantastic color combinations and variety, and the unique Persian knot used in their crafting.
The best way to get an impression of Persian rugs is to take a look. Although images do not do the Persian rugs full justice, here are some Persian rugs we’ve selected to give you a feel of the patterns, styles and appearance.
Some Persian Rugs in unique dimensions
Since Persian rugs are works of art, the width and length are most often not an exact, common dimension such as 8×10.
